Sasha Fisher serves as Executive Director at Spark Microgrants. She moved to East Africa in July 2010 to develop the Spark MicroGrants model. Her previous experiences in South Sudan, South Africa, India, and Uganda have led to her passion for community-led development. Sasha holds a BA from the University of Vermont in Studio Art and a self-designed major in Human Security, a paradigm for development that recognizes the rising legitimacy of non-state actors in securing basic human needs.

Frank is a certified grants and program management professional with over 13 years' experience in projects and grants management. Prior to joining the World Connect team, he spent six and half years at U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi managing their small grants program. His experience spans from project design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation to project closeout. He is also highly experienced in organizational capacity building and development of monitoring and evaluation tools. Before joining U.S. Embassy, he spent eight years working as program manager for the Federation of Disability Organizations in Malawi (FEDOMA). He holds an Master of Science in Transformative Community Development from Mzuzu University and a bachelor's in Rural and Community Development.

Prior to joining the AVFund, Shamira was an associate program officer at the ELMA Philanthropies, where she supported the foundation’s investments in organizations addressing disaster response, food security, and promoting sustainable livelihoods across Africa. As a public policy fellow at Philanthropy New York, she focused on building funder capacity and advancing racial equity within the philanthropic sector. Shamira has also managed programs at an international experiential education nonprofit, headed communications at a Kenyan creative social impact hub, and consulted for a number of organizations, including a boutique strategy firm where she helped Fortune 500 clients understand their workplace culture and develop impactful diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies.
