About the event
MacKenzie Scott, former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has made headlines with her rapid and unorthodox approach to philanthropy — giving away head spinning sums of money, often to relatively small organizations, and leaving her grantees to decide how to spend the cash. It's a refreshing approach for NGOs accustomed to having to fill out lengthy applications and meet burdensome reporting requirements — but it also comes with challenges.
Join Devex senior reporter, Stephanie Beasley, as she hears from some of Scott's grantees about the experience, the pros and cons of this type of giving for recipient organizations, and whether this represents an emerging new model for philanthropy.
