Typically this event brings together 1,000 development professionals in Washington, D.C. But due to the global pandemic, we’ll be meeting virtually this year from all over the world. It’s a mix of big name leaders you know and people you’ve never heard of but are doing some of the most fascinating and innovative work in the world. There’s incredible diversity which helps us connect the dots for all participants about what’s really happening in global development.

We do address sectors in the program (including global health, agriculture, and education), but only through the framework of these thematic tracks. As an event run by journalists, Devex World is very much rooted in the current context. For Devex World 2020, we will of course shine a spotlight on the pandemic and its ongoing ripple effects. We will also discuss the results of the US presidential election and its implications for global development funding and collaboration. And we will dig into the new technologies, billionaire philanthropists, and bold ideas challenging traditional approaches.
