To find out, Devex is hosting a digital event featuring insights from Stephan Grieb, the deputy director of human resources for the UN Refugee agency, and Skender Nushi, UNHCR’s chief of talent development and performance. We’ll ask them what applicants need to know when pursuing a job with the agency and the U.N. in general.

Stephan has over 26 years of experience working for the United Nations, including in the areas of protection, law, policy, and human resources. He worked as a senior protection officer and representative for UNHCR in the Republic of Congo, as head of policy and administrative law, as associate director of human resources with UNICEF, and as UNICEF area representative for Gabon and São Tomé and Príncipe before beginning his current role with UNHCR.

Skender Nushi

Skender is an international human resources professional with over 20 years of HR experience in both the humanitarian and private sectors. His most recent position has seen him work over the past five years as an HR business partner with UNICEF Europe and Central Asia regions before starting his current position as chief of talent development and performance with UNHCR. He holds a master’s degree in human resource management and a Chartered MCIPD and is a certified strengths-based coach.
