Devex, with the support of The Rockefeller Foundation, is excited to announce the first ever Devex International Development Career Fair and Partnerships Forum in Nairobi, Kenya on October 16-17, 2013. East Africa is one of the fastest growing regional economies in the world, and Nairobi is a hub for the global development community. It's an ideal place to highlight the growing trend toward localization of development and a prime location to connect international NGO's, contractors, and donors with local partners and candidates based in the region. These relationships will be crucial in helping organizations succeed in the region in years to come.

Devex and The Rockefeller Foundation

Devex is proud to join with The Rockefeller Foundation, our exclusive Global Supporter, for the first-ever Nairobi Forum. Throughout its 100 year history, and 50 years in Africa, The Rockefeller Foundation has encouraged the ingenuity of innovative thinkers and actors by providing the resources, networks, convening power, and technologies to move innovation from idea to impact. This forum, with its focus on connecting the people and organizations who can make an impact in East Africa, is an opportunity for all of us to work together to move from the idea of localization to its practical impact. And it would not be possible without the support of The Rockefeller Foundation.

The Rockefeller Foundation is known as a thought leader and innovator. Its Digital Jobs Africa initiative is seizing the opportunity presented by the youth bulge in Africa and the phenomenal rise of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector to bring about sustainable impact through job creation. 100 Resilient Cities, the latest Rockefeller Foundation challenge, helps cities develop their infrastructure and services to mitigate the devastating effects of crises and natural disasters on poor or vulnerable people. From education to health to food security, the Foundation is setting new standards to generate sustainable impact.

Now, with a new Managing Director for Africa, Mr. Mamadou Biteye, The Rockefeller Foundation is embarking on a new century of impact in the region. We welcome the opportunity to work with them on the Nairobi Forum and thank them for their leadership.
