The world is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Conflict, economic shocks, climate extremes, and soaring prices are all combining to create a situation that is only going to get worse.
This Devex event in collaboration with the U.N. World Food Programme will tackle the need for coordinated responses to global threats and future emergencies.
Climate change has been dubbed as the single biggest health threat facing humanity, not only triggering the spread of diseases to new geographies, but also conflict and displacement.
Moreover, the challenges, gaps and inequities identified during the COVID-19 pandemic provided valuable lessons for the global community such as the need for inclusive, coordinated preparedness and response at all levels.
So how can we prepare a global infrastructure that can quickly deploy partnerships and resources to where they are most urgently needed?
The event will explore how we can learn from the lessons of INITIATE² , a five-year initiative that has developed innovative solutions for health emergencies, and apply this partnership model to other areas of global cooperation. We’ll bring together experts from WFP, the World Health Organization, and philanthropic sectors to discuss how we can build a more resilient and coordinated response to global crises.
Join us in New York or online as we unpack ways to unlock the full potential of partnerships to achieve humanitarian goals.
The event will begin with a networking breakfast for in-person attendees where they can connect with U.N. officials, industry experts, and NGOs working on global threats and responses.
