MEET THE SAS TEAM
Partner & Global Head of Partnerships
With a passion for the concept of mainstreaming development, Alan works with Devex members to help them do their work even more effectively, or, as the tagline goes, to Do Good. Do It Well. He is responsible for building new, innovative partnerships with all types of development actors, from aid agencies to corporations to NGOs and everything in between.
Director, Global Advisory & Analysis
Pete is a development policy and finance guru passionate about the ways international donors and companies are investing around the globe. After a summer of college soccer training in Jamaica, which opened his eyes to the developing world, Pete hit the road — first to the Middle East in support of the U.S. State Department and then on to the Philippines where he’s worked in both security and development.
Manager, Survey & Advisory Services
Nick leads an experienced team of researchers on a variety of projects at Devex. He previously worked with the United Nations in Aceh, Indonesia, and was heavily involved with the civil society contingent to the Fourth High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Busan, South Korea, during his time as a policy officer with Ibon International.
Having studied the coping mechanisms and food-driven behavior of urban poor women in the slums of Tondo, Manila, Patricia has long been aware of the acute developmental gaps underlying the world's poorest communities. At Devex, she parlays her on-the-ground knowledge into data-driven research and analysis for organizations looking to best create impact for those who need it most. An anthropologist with leanings toward global politics, Patricia has previously worked for human rights NGOs as a researcher, advisor and community organizer.
Senior Development Analyst
Since joining Devex in 2009, EC’s work has revolved around tracking the funding activities of the world’s top aid donors. He is currently part of the Survey Advisory Services team, where he handles client projects and writes business articles that inform today’s development professionals on key funding trends. An eight-time gold medalist in fencing and a former team captain at his university, EC applies the same level of rigor in his research as he does in his training.
Manola De Vos
Senior Development Analyst
Shaped by her father's experiences as a development practitioner, Manola witnessed first-hand the merits and intricacies of aid work across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Today, she leads and designs customized research and analysis for some of the world’s most well-respected organizations, giving them the knowledge they need to grow their donor base, work more efficiently, and drive lasting results. Before Devex, Manola worked in conflict analysis and political affairs for the United Nations, International Crisis Group and the EU.

Prior to joining Devex, he was a senior analyst for a social performance consulting firm, where he combined his research and analysis skills with his communications experience to provide insights into critical stakeholders, assess risks, and recommend engagement strategies. Joel is an adoring father of two daughters who keep his hands full in his downtime.
Ma. Karen Brutas
One of the few Devexers with logician personality, Karen’s enthusiast for data-driven research has proved valuable in helping clients grow their partnership and funding base. She is part of the Survey and Advisory Services doing mostly stakeholder analysis. Before joining Devex, Karen worked at several NGOs, where she conducted research, capacity building and policy advocacy on women’s human rights and access to justice. When she’s not working, she is usually on a surf holiday or exploring World Heritage Sites.
Jose Antonio Pacapac
Joining Devex as an analyst, Jet is a development practitioner who has worn many hats over the years: a policy writer for national electoral campaigns, advocacy program officer for a national NGO network, and an economist in a private equity firm. Jet is a graduate of the economics and development studies programs of Ateneo de Manila University, and is currently an avid road cyclist and triathlete, who uses races as an excuse to travel the beautiful Philippines.
Rachel Van Klaveren
Living in the Netherlands, Kenya, and the Philippines contributed to Rachel’s interest in cultures, societies and people — especially in the developing world. This interest resulted in an MA in cultural anthropology and development sociology. Now, Rachel is part of the Survey Advisory Services team where she is involved in customized research projects. She loves to travel and enjoys outdoor sports such as cycling, swimming, skiing and scuba diving.
