About the Event

Join us on Monday, April 25 at Elizabeth’s On L Street in Washington, D.C., for a series of conversations with policymakers, funders, corporate executives, and civil society leaders on the actions necessary to transform the global food system and to combat hunger, malnutrition, and food insecurity around the world. The exclusive, in-person event (yes, really!) will be followed by an intimate cocktail hour and seated dinner featuring a curated selection of plant-based dishes from Elizabeth’s Gone Raw.

This gathering comes at a time when the topic of food systems reform is more pressing than ever. Global hunger numbers — which had already been moving in the wrong direction — are skyrocketing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and exacerbated by climate change and conflict.

How exactly will financial commitments materialize and what mechanisms are in place to track performance and success? What data is needed to provide successful, sustained progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 2 of ending hunger?

We’ll discuss these questions and more as we explore the role of policy, finance, and technology in global food systems solutions. Conversations will be based on the following themes:

• The role of foreign policy in the fight against global malnutrition.
• Effective financial investment in food systems reform.
• The tie between food systems reform and climate change.
• Understanding the links between conflict and food security.
