As the global health community gathers for the 79th World Health Assembly, the road map for disease elimination is reaching a critical inflection point. The traditional model of vertical, disease-specific campaigns is evolving into a more sustainable, integrated approach. To reach the last mile, the focus must shift from expanding access to fundamentally redesigning how elimination efforts are embedded within national health systems.
Hosted by Devex in partnership with the Global Institute for Disease Elimination, this session explores the driving transformation of disease elimination through strategic integration and technological innovation. While the WHO NTD Roadmap 2021–2030 provides the framework, the "how" is being defined at the community level. This conversation will move beyond high-level theory to showcase how artificial intelligence and data-driven tools are solving complex demographic challenges, strengthening surveillance, and empowering the health workforce.
