Resilience in Action

Resilience is among the most-used buzzwords in development. But what does it mean in practice?

About
Resilience
in Action

The most vulnerable communities around the world — those exposed to the impacts of climate change, natural disasters or conflict — can be transformed into sites of resilience. This means empowering people locally to assess, manage and monitor anticipated risks and to respond quickly to uncertainty and crisis.

Resilience in Action is a three-week campaign, in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, focusing on the realities of building resilient communities. To echo the call to action of the One Billion Coalition initiative, we will focus on how partnerships and coalitions can help address violence, preserve access to humanitarian services and reduce risk from natural disasters.
