On May 9th, 2019, Devex will convene a group of senior thought leaders to host an important conversation on legal frameworks to support women's economic empowerment. This event, underwritten by Pact, will feature a high-level interview between Devex senior reporter Adva Saldinger and Henriette Kolb, Head of the Gender Secretariat at IFC. The conversation will take a deep dive into how development actors can support the enabling environments needed for women to thrive.

Henriette Kolb

Head, Gender Secretariat, International Finance Corporation

Henriette leads the Gender Department at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. She serves as an advocate for gender equality issues in the private sector and works with IFC’s clients to include both women and men as entrepreneurs, employees, consumers, community stakeholders and leaders. She leads a global team that is engaged in co-creating gender-smart private sector solutions through research, investments, advice and peer learning platforms.

Adva Saldinger

Senior Reporter, Devex

As a senior reporter based in Washington, D.C., Adva leads coverage of the intersection between business and global development. For the latest on innovative finance, private sector engagement and entrepreneurship follow her reporting. A business journalist with more than 10 years of experience, she worked at several newspapers in the U.S. and lived in both Ghana and South Africa. Adva grew up in California, where she developed a great love of nature and the outdoors.
