On February 27, 2020, Devex will convene a group of senior thought leaders to host an important conversation focusing on the recent launch of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. As the most significant change in the U.S. Development landscape in more than 15 years, all eyes are on the DFC and how it will deliver with a new set of tools and a stronger development mandate. This event will feature a high-level interview between Devex President & Editor-in-Chief, Raj Kumar and newly appointed DFC CEO, Adam Boehler, providing insight on what lies ahead for the newly founded agency.

Adam Boehler

CEO, U.S. International Development Corporation

Adam Boehler serves as the first Chief Executive Officer of the new U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). He was appointed by the President and unanimously confirmed by the Senate on September 26, 2019. Mr. Boehler has extensive experience in investment, entrepreneurship, and innovation both in and outside of the U.S. Government. Prior to his confirmation, he led healthcare innovation for the United States. He served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary, Deputy Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Director of the Innovation Center at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In this role, Mr. Boehler oversaw 600 people focused on innovation in the American healthcare system to create better outcomes for patients, healthier communities, and lower the cost of healthcare.

Raj Kumar

President and Editor-in-Chief, Devex

Raj Kumar is the founding President & Editor-in-Chief of Devex, the media platform for the global development community. A social enterprise dedicated to ensuring global development efforts do more good for more people, Devex was born in 2000 when Raj was a graduate student at the Harvard Kennedy School. Today, there are 100+ Devexers around the world serving a global audience of more than one million aid workers and development professionals. Beginning as a kid in Kerala, India, Raj has witnessed firsthand determined and courageous development work in over 50 countries – it’s what drives the Devex mission to “Do Good. Do It Well.” He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a media leader and former humanitarian council chair for the World Economic Forum, and has interviewed on-camera and on- stage hundreds of global luminaries on the most important challenges of our time. Raj is the author of the book “The Business of Changing the World,” a go-to primer on the ideas, people, and technology disrupting the aid industry.
