As artificial intelligence transforms industries, how do we ensure it also advances equity — not just efficiency? How can digital innovation be harnessed to close opportunity gaps, strengthen communities, and deliver meaningful change for those too often left behind?
Recent research underscores AI’s growing—but uneven—impact on advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. Around the world, nonprofits and NGOs are being asked to do more with less — stretching limited resources to meet rising needs. Digital tools and AI offer unprecedented potential to scale impact, but too often, these technologies remain out of reach for organizations working on the front lines of social change, with only about 10% of philanthropic AI grants between 2018 and 2023 supporting organizations located in low- and middle-income countries. Without intentional investment in digital readiness, the benefits of AI risk widening the very divides we seek to close.
In partnership with Devex at UNGA80, ServiceNow will convene a high-level conversation on the power of AI and digital platforms to drive inclusion, enable nonprofits, and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
This session will spotlight how AI can be a tool for empowerment, not exclusion — where technology is designed to serve people first, and to strengthen the missions that matter most.
