Illac Diaz
Founder, MyShelter Foundation

Illac is a social entrepreneur working to empower communities around the world through several pioneering programs. He founded the MyShelter Foundation in 2006 to promote grassroots sustainable development through capacity-building and employment-generating projects. His latest venture, Liter of Light, aims to bring low-cost, zero-carbon solar bottle bulbs to underprivileged communities - so far, the project has lit up over 350,000 households.


Illac holds a Master's Degree in Social Entrepreneurship from the Asian Institute of Management, A Master's Degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.


Abbas Sbeity 
Founder and Director, Architects for Change

Inspired by the idea that "architects build communities, not only buildings" in 2014 Abbas founded Architects for Change, an organization that focuses on education, social impact and youth development. It also provides a platform for architecture and design students and young professionals to expand their learning. Abbas was named as a Young Leader at European Development Days 2016, having represented the voice of youth on the topic of "Inclusive, Sustainable and Resilient Cities".

He also receive the Hasselbein Medal for Leadership and Civic Engagement from the Hasselbein Global Academy at the University of Pittsburgh, and was also selected as a mentor in youth civic engagement with AIESC and World Youth Alliance in Lebanon. Based in Beirut, Abbas studied architecture at the Lebanese University and is now considering a Master's.
