Cancer is not only a clinical condition but a profoundly human experience, affecting patients and families across emotional, social, and economic dimensions. As incidence rises, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, up to 60% of people living with cancer report significant emotional distress, yet psychosocial support remains one of the least available components of care globally.
This session, in partnership with Amgen, will bring together voices with lived experience, from clinical and psychosocial practice and health policy, to explore how families navigate the psychosocial toll of cancer, where they find support, where gaps persist, and what pathways exist to strengthen systems of care.
